Register for eDuties

How solicitors, conveyancers and accountants can register for eDuties.

On this page

The eDuties online service does not replace self-assessment of Electronic Duties Returns (EDR) transactions. For these transactions, continue to use the EDR online service.

Register for eDuties

Industry professionals can be registered for the online services of eDuties and Electronic Duties Returns (EDR). You can also apply for an eDuties account without registering for EDR.

eDuties applications can only be submitted for complex transactions which cannot be processed in EDR.

Register for eDuties and EDR

If you require registration for eDuties and EDR, you only need to make an application for EDR. Instructions for registering for eDuties will be provided during the EDR registration process.

Register for EDR

Clients already registered for EDR

Prior to registering for eDuties, please check and update your EDR registration details if needed.

To register for eDuties you must provide your EDR Client ID and ABN.

Training and assistance

Log into eDuties to access training material and user guides located under training materials and resources.

If you have any questions, you can contact the eDuties or EDR team.

Common questions

Who is an approval holder?

For the purposes of EDR, the approval holder is the principal of the business or a director, partner, authorised signatory, or other office bearer who can legally sign on behalf of the company.

Do I still need an EDR account if I register for eDuties?

Yes, EDR clients will still need an EDR account. eDuties does not replace transactions which can only be processed via EDR.

What if I do not want to register for online services?

If you do not wish to use eDuties or EDR, you will need to engage a settlement agent to lodge or process matters on your behalf.
