Accessibility

This site has been designed to be as user friendly as possible to allow our customers to make the most of the site whatever their ability or disability.

On this page

Revenue NSW is committed to providing a website that is accessible to all users.

Our commitment to accessibility

We are committed to ensuring everyone can access our information and services anywhere, anytime using desktop, tablet or mobile devices.

We've designed our website to uphold the NSW Government web accessibility standards, which aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at level AA.

WCAG are a series of international standards from the World Wide Web Consortium (WC3), which provides strategies standards and resources to make web content more accessible for people with disability.

We conducted extensive testing when developing the design, navigation and content on our website and have built and modified the site with accessibility as a key consideration. We regularly review and improve our website to ensure we continue to support the accessibility needs of customers:

  • who are blind or have low vision
  • with cognitive disability
  • with physical disability
  • who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Accessing PDF and Word documents

While accessibility is a priority for new content, there are legacy documents and forms on our website which may not be accessible for some customers. These are mainly in PDF and Word format.

We are working to transfer all PDF and Word documents to web-based text and pages. If you are unable to access content in the interim, we can provide information currently in PDF or Word documents to you in an alternative format.

Or, if you use assistive technology and are having difficulty accessing information in a PDF, you can save the file as a plain text file in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

You can increase or decrease the size of the text on the screen using your web browser or keyboard.

Audio and video content

Most of our videos are hosted on YouTube. We use closed captioning on our videos wherever possible. As well as standard accessibility options available on YouTube, we also provide transcripts for audio and captions.

How to access the read-aloud tool

If you need additional support accessing text content, you can use our text to speech function. To do this, select the 'listen' button which appears in the top right-hand corner of most of our pages.

If you need further support

If you have difficulty accessing information on our website or have any suggestions to make information more accessible, call us on  02 7808 6900. We aim to send the requested information within 48 hours.
