Royalty Online Services User Guide – Petroleum return

Royalty Online Services (ROS) is a service that allows an authorised person to electronically lodge returns and pay royalties directly to Revenue NSW.

ROS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and allows users to lodge and manage their royalty returns in an authenticated and secure online environment.

This user guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to lodge a petroleum monthly return.

1. Registering for ROS
(logging in for the first time)

To access ROS, you will need a username and password. If you do not have a username, you will need to complete a User Access Form (PDF, 146.99 KB).

Completed forms may be sent via email or by post to:

Revenue NSW
Mineral Royalty
GPO Box 4042
Sydney NSW 2001

When your ROS access is approved, you will receive an email to register on the Okta platform, which is an Identity Access Management (IAM) system. Revenue NSW uses the Okta platform to manage access to ROS through a single, secure home page. All royalty customers must register for Okta and set-up a second factor of authentication prior to accessing ROS.
