It is important that you keep your land and contact details up to date with us. It ensures that you receive your notices on time and pay the correct amount of tax.
You must also respond to any requests from us for more information. This will help us to accurately assess your liability for land tax and surcharge land tax.
If you have received correspondence from Revenue NSW asking you to complete a specific task, this can be completed in Land Tax Online.
Getting started with Land Tax Online
Land Tax Online helps you comply with your land tax and surcharge land tax obligations.
You can easily access Land Tax Online via your MyServiceNSW Account on the Service NSW website. This helps you conveniently manage your land tax in the same place as other NSW Government services.
Enter your client ID and correspondence ID to log in.
Your client ID and correspondence ID can be found at the top of your most recent correspondence from Revenue NSW.
If you do not have these IDs, you need to request a login for Land Tax Online.
Contact us if you have misplaced your client ID and correspondence ID. Call 1300 139 816 during business hours to enable access to your Land Tax Online account.
How to request a login for Land Tax Online
To log in to Land Tax Online you need a client ID and correspondence ID. It is like a username and password.
You need to request a login (pre-register) if you believe you are liable for land tax or surcharge land tax in NSW, and:
you have not received a land tax assessment notice or other land tax correspondence from Revenue NSW, and
you have never accessed Land Tax Online before, or
you are a property professional acting on behalf of a landowner – property professionals need to submit a separate login request form for each landowner(s).
To set up a new plan or change an existing plan, select Manage Payments then select Make a payment. Proceed to step 4. Proceed to step 7.
To view an existing plan, select Manage Payments then select View plan PDF.
Select duration and payment frequency. Accept the plan.
Select your payment method (direct debit, BPAY, credit card).
If direct debit is selected:
update/review existing bank details, or add new bank details
review and accept the direct debit terms and conditions, and
schedule the payment.
If you set up a 3 or 6 month plan and need more time to pay, you may increase the duration of your plan at any time as long as your payments are up to date. You can do this via the Manage Payments option in Land Tax Online.
Note
If your circumstances change, resulting in a reassessment, your payment plan and direct debit will be cancelled. You can manage your payment options in Land Tax Online.
All you need is an email and password to register.
Proof of Identity documents are not required (e.g. passport, license, birth certificate, etc).
If you are a tax agent or third party accessing a client's land tax, it is recommended you create a MyServiceNSW account using your company/business details.
Yes, you will need to log in to, or create, a MyServiceNSW Account using an email and password.
Multi-factor authentication is now required for all MyServiceNSW Accounts.
To log in without an Australian contact number, you will need to set up 2-step authentication through an authenticator app. Read more about how to set up multi-factor authentication.
Yes, you can still make a Quick payment, however by logging into a MyServiceNSW Account all your payment options will be displayed as well as your outstanding balance.
A customer can easily switch between accounts (multiple clients, individual or partnerships) by using the switch account option that will be available to you once you are signed into a client account.
The switch account will log you out of the current client account and give you the opportunity to log into another client account using their client ID and correspondence ID.
It is recommended you use a business account to manage your multiple clients, you can create a new account or use an existing one.
It is recommended you sign in with a business or company MyServiceNSW account (or newly created one).
Note: This is to help separate your personal MyServiceNSW Account from business.
After entering the client ID and correspondence ID to sign into the account you will be prompted to enter your details. It is recommended you use your business contact details in case Revenue NSW is required to contact you.
Note: To successfully add the land tax service to your chosen MyServiceNSW Account you will need to input a valid client ID and correspondence ID. You can then easily switch between client accounts by using the ‘switch account’ option available once you are signed into a client account.
No, you cannot add a client account to your own MyServiceNSW Account. You will need to select the land tax service each time you need to access your client's account. You will need their client ID and correspondence ID to log into their account each time.

To successfully add the land tax service to your MyServiceNSW Account you will need to input a valid client ID and correspondence ID.
No, customers (individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies etc) or third parties (tax agents, accountants, authority to act) will still need to log into their MyServiceNSW Account, select their land tax tile and enter their client ID and correspondence ID when they want to manage their land tax.
For security purposes you will not remain logged into a land tax account you have accessed after logging into a different account.
Account contacts you add are authorised to receive information about your account when contacting Revenue NSW. When required these contacts are used by Revenue NSW to resolve any queries on your account.
