First home buyers in NSW may be eligible for a full exemption or a reduced rate of transfer duty under the First Home Buyers Assistance (FHBA).
Under the program a full exemption from transfer duty is available to first homeowners buying a new or existing home valued up to $800,000, while homes valued over $800,000 and less than $1,000,000 may qualify for a concessional rate.
There are multiple ways to use the First Home Buyer Assistance (FHBA) dashboard. The two easiest ways are by changing the filters and using the interactive map.
Using the filters
There are three filters to choose from, contract year, region and local government area (LGA).
You can use the contract filter to choose which financial year you would like to filter your results by.
You can use the region filter to choose which region you would like to filter your results by.
You can use the local government area filter to choose which LGA you would like to filter by.
To gain insights for certain regions / local government area by year, select the contract year then filter by either region or LGA.
To clear the filters, hit the “CLEAR FILTERS” button.
Using the interactive map
To view data for individual suburbs, navigate to the map and use a mouse to click on the suburb you would like to see data for.
When you have selected the suburb, the relevant data will be automatically populated in the data columns.
Some of the data shown includes:
The number of properties
The total value saved, and the average value saved
