Make a claim

If you find lost money that is legally yours, you can submit a claim online to get it back. There is no time limit within which a rightful owner must make a claim.

Claim your money

Or, download and complete the Unclaimed Money Claim Form and return the form to us.

Information you need to provide

To show the money is yours, we’ll ask you for your proof of identity.

Multiple owners

If the unclaimed money has more than one owner, each owner needs to submit a claim.

After someone dies

If you are claiming money that belonged to someone who has died, you’ll need to provide additional information.

What happens next

We’ll match your details with the information given to us when the money was lodged with us.

Your claim may take longer to process if you cannot include all the documents we ask for. If we don’t have enough information, we’ll get in touch to ask you for more documents.

  • If your claim is approved, we’ll let you know in writing and tell you how much money will be returned to your selected bank account.
  • If your claim is unsuccessful, we’ll get in touch to tell you why.
