It is important that you keep your land details, contact information and foreign status up to date with Revenue NSW.
This ensures that you receive your annual assessment notice on time and pay the correct amount of tax.
You must also respond to any requests from us for more information.
This will help us accurately assess how much tax you owe.
Please note
When you update land tax details in Land Tax Online you have lodged a land tax return.
Who needs to update
Update land tax details in Land Tax Online if:
you believe your assessment should be amended because your circumstances have changed, or
you need:
to update your personal details, including foreign status
to apply for an exemption or change an existing exemption
Keeping your sensitive information safe - what not to upload
Revenue NSW is bound by the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIP). We are committed to protecting your personal information and request that you do not upload documents which include sensitive details.
Sensitive details can be any of the following:
credit card details
bank card details
bank account numbers
tax file numbers
personal and health information not required for tax administration.
Please remove any sensitive information from your documents before uploading files to Land Tax Online.
How to update details
Tip
Make sure you have all your supporting documents ready before you log in to your Land Tax Online account.
In Land Tax Online, check your details then select Continue.
Select Manage land tax.
Select Update land tax details.
Follow the prompts to update your personal and property information.
Apply for any exemptions or concessions you believe you may be entitled to. You will need to upload your supporting documents.

Submit
Review changes and select Submit.
Your property details in Land Tax Online may not be visible while the changes are being processed.
What happens next
After you update your land tax details, Revenue will:
review all the information you provided, and
contact you if more information is needed, including the due date for the additional information.
If requested, you must upload additional documents in Land Tax Online. If you do not provide the additional information requested by the due date, we will process your return using the information you originally submitted.
Revenue NSW will notify you in writing or by phone if there are any changes to your tax liability. If your assessment changes we will send you a new assessment notice.
Any payments you have already made will be applied to your new assessment. If you have a credit we will issue a refund. Learn how to request a refund in Land Tax Online.
Note
You must still pay your tax by the due date if you update your land tax details, such as applying for an exemption. If no changes are made to your assessment, interest will be imposed on any overdue amounts.
Managing multiple land tax accounts
This information is for:
third parties, such as solicitors, accountants, or those with authority to act, or
anyone managing multiple land tax accounts, including individuals and partnerships.
