The annual return for payroll tax is now live

03 June 2026

You can now lodge your 2026 annual return on Payroll Tax Online. Annual returns for payroll tax are due by 28 July 2026.

There is no monthly return for June

Payroll tax reporting for the month of June is included in the annual return. No payment is required by 7 July.

Grouping enhancements for the 2026 annual return

We have added a new question to the annual return that enables existing group details to be pre-filled. Grouped customers can review and update the pre-filled details or enter their details manually if the pre-filled information is incorrect.

If the group details entered in the annual return do not match the group details held by Revenue NSW, we will review and update the records where possible. A member of the payroll tax team may contact you to confirm details or request supporting documents.
